Absentee Ballot FAQ’s:
If you are requesting an absentee ballot, the request must be received in writing and must include your name, address, date of birth, and signature. The absentee ballot request form can be found at http://sos.mt.gov/ELB/forms/voters/absenteeballot.pdf
If you have moved from your previous residence and would like to request an absentee ballot you will need to include both a registration card updating your residence as well as an absentee request form. Both of these forms can be found at http://sos.mt.gov/ELB/Forms_and_Publications.asp.
Finally, if you are not sure if you are registered or where you are registered, there is a “Polling Place Locator Service” that will give you your most current registration information, including where you vote, as well as provide you with a link to the voter information pamphlet concerning ballot issues. This link is www.sos.mt.gov.
If you find that you are not
registered, or if you have moved from another county and meet the 30-day
residence requirement for the State of
person. A list of county election office locations can be found at: http://sos.mt.gov/ELB/forms/elections/electionadministrators.pdf
At the time you register you will
be issued a ballot. This ballot can be
voted in the office or you may take it with you but it must be returned to the
County Election Office. You will not be
eligible to vote at the polls in this election.
This late registration process will be in
effect from now until

Voted absentee ballots can be dropped off at the County Election Office (preferred), or at a polling place on Election Day.
